Straight Up Youth
The FBCLC Youth Ministry has a great team of adult and student leaders that work together to plan and execute our student ministry. Our desire is to make sure everything we do, we do for God’s glory. Our name, “Straight Up” is reflective of that desire. I Corinthians 10:31 tells us that everything we do is to be for God’s glory: “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory.” “For the glory of God alone” is our church vision statement, and that is the framework we use in determining how we minister to students. We focus on meeting the needs of area middle and high school students, while always striving to glorify God. Whatever we do, we want it to be worthy of being offered “Straight Up” to God for His glory.
As we minister, we focus on developing disciples as God’s Word has commanded us to do. We want to help students become as much like Christ as they can through this ministry with which God has entrusted us. To that end, we offer the following programs of ministry to students each week:
Sunday School
Each Sunday morning, we gather for Sunday school with the focus being God's Word. We deal with different scriptural themes on a yearly basis, always seeking to grow young believers with the truths of what God has told us in the Bible.

Discipleship
We take aim at discipleship with a variety of Bible study small groups. These study groups vary throughout the year, but the goal is always the same: equip students to be like Christ.

Straight Up Youth
On Wednesdays, we have Straight Up Youth, a program designed to attract students in order to teach them the truths of God’s Word. We aim to communicate to the students how much God loves them and how desperately they need Him in their lives. We also provide socialization and recreation times for hanging out and meeting that great need we have to play. This is a great time each week for students to come and be a part of a student gathering for worship and Bible study. Our students all worship together in singing, then we break off into high school and middle school groups.
