The Janson Family

July 11, 2009

Ola amigo Panfi, Daniel and family went to Rincon by land last Friday. I am still in Santa Cruz, came for a check up on the plane, so far all looks fine. The Repaskys are in Rincon doing their job. Because of the flu A (H1N1) the government ordered to extend the winter vacation for another week. So far has not been too cold. In our area there has not been any case of the cold or flu type A praying for you all yours in His Victory.

Sam Janson iis presently in Santa Cruz to renew the plane's airworthiness. They recently had three computers effected by viruses, spyware, ect. Sam was able to get two new hard drives and a bunch of antivirus, antiworm, antispy, etc. They were able to recover most of their information. They think some of the bad stuff came from the Ministry of Education, when in the beginning of January they had to download the new rules and charts for this year. School started and they are busy, but the Lord is evident. "The Lord is strengthening our hands and spirits, but it is pretty hard as we are short handed. We already had some lives surrendering to CHRIST, but satan is not happy. From here (Santa Cruz) I could not help much, but pray, asking others to do the same. Panfi prayed on Christ´s name and claimed His blood rebuking any evil spirit and things calmed down. So, it is a constant warfare, so please KEEP US CONSTANTLY IN YOUR PRAYERS." Sam hopes to be back in Rincon tomorrow. Please pray for the mission--spiritual, personal and educational needs.

" 'The prayer of faithful man availeth much....' Once again God's Word proved to be right, as always it is. Thank you so much for your prayers and for passing on this request.

Panfi's oral examination and presentation of credentials went fine. God gave grace and wisdom. There were representatives from the Ministry of Education, from the teacher's union, State officials and at the end the Gov. Officials even offered her a possition as Province director for education with seat in Puerto Suarez (our school district). She declined, and when asked why... the Lord gave her an oportunity to share her faith and God's call to serve Him in remote and forsaken areas of Bolivia. We do not know how much they understood, but the Word is planted and she got one of the highest grades without bribes or political patronage. From all the principals in the Province she is the only one that has Bachelor Degree in School Administration and that is why they do not understand why she prefers to 'waste' her title in a small jungle school, when 'you could earn and be better off in the city'. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. The Lord gave grace and wisdom in all. In December they are suposed to have written exams to screen out more principals, and again, those exams are graded by them and no one knows or sees the results, nor you can complain or argue as they are the government. This country is in bad shape--as bad rules, laws, are destroying the economy, investment, professionals are leaving the country. You only can buy 30m liters of fuel a day. Long lines to buy propane gas for cooking, food prices have gone up almost 50% in the last months. But we know these are signs that the end is getting closer; may the Lord give us wisdom and boldeness to witness while we can......With love and appreciation, in HIS VICTORY" Sam & Panfi

"School is over and lots of paper work is left. The last Sunday of the school year we had baptism as some students wanted to give their testimony before leaving. Leo's leg is improving, but not his hand movement. He is in the city now getting a check-up. The government situation is getting worse--many imprisonments. If you speak up of the wrong doings or abuse, you end up kidnapped at midnight by masked troops--many are Venezuelan soldiers. TV reporters, owners, journalists are being taken to La Paz jail. You do not hear much about it in the states, but now they want to kick out DEA guys; but they want your money, aid, and tax-free privileges. Much money is paid to buy congressmen. We continue to plant and water here, but until when? We do not know....."

The political situation of our country is at its lowest level. The government expelled the US ambasador, expelled the DEA and the USAID (drug lords and coca planters defend the government in exchange for freedom to work). Many deaths are ocurring as the president wants to impose a new constitution for communism with Chavez and Castro's help. They are spending much money buying people, brainwashing indigenous groups and 'campesinos' peasants through 24-hour radio programs on 60 powerful radio stations donated by Venezuela. They say that communism is good, that the president is good, that USA is bad, that the opposition wants to destroy them and many other lies. Humble people without much wisdom easily beleive all that and go for it. Hard times are coming. Yesterday the gov. sent military troups to Cobija where the opposition was protesting. As soon as they landed they started shooting a 54 old evangelical pastor tried to pacify and stop the shooting, but was killed by the army with his Bible in his hands. A new army group was sent to Puerto Suares, but the 3 border towns called the inhabitants with the bells of the catholic church and the people took over the airport, streets, train station, border and the military are confined in their base. Things can turn out pretty bad, as 28 people have died already in northern Bolivia in what looks like to be a civil war. Sad but dreadful. Thank you for your prayer on our behalf. We do not know where all this will lead or how much freedom we still have, but we will work while is light and while the Lord allows. Love you all. saludos" Sam

Pray for Sam & Panfi Janson and all of the missionaries at Rincon del Rigre, and for the country of Central African Republic. Widespread evangelism since the 1960's has yielded a massive response. The CAR has Africa's highest percentage of Evangelicals, but lack of effective discipleship of both the new and second and third-generation Christians has created multiple problems. Pray against the root causes of divisions in the Church.

Request from Rincon: Leo had a stroke on Thursday--he is hospitalized in Corumba, Brazil. His left side is effected. He is conscious and can speak, but he cannot control his left arm or leg. Sam spent last night with him; Claudia is with him now. Please pray for God's work in Leo's life and recovery.

Ronnie Threadgill received an e-mail from Sam at Rincon. Sam has requested we pray about another government situation--they are once again trying to make all schools public schools. Last year they tried to forbid the teaching of the Bible or any religion in schools, but God did not allow it to happen. Now they are trying to do away with all the principals of schools that are not in favor with communist or socialist style the government teaches. Rincon school works under an agreement with the Ministry of Education in which the Government pays the teachers, but the administration is in the hands of a missionary as principal. Panfi is in Santa Cruz and is scheduled to meet with the State Official for Education tomorrow (Tuesday) in regards to this new law they are trying to enforce. They do not want to honor the previous agreement with the mission, nor with any other religious school or organization. They are looking for ways to put in their own directors. Sam asks that we once again ask the Lord to intervene. Through the school they have been able to reach many lives and villages.

Sam also reports that a group of 10 are there from Kilgore Bible Church, helping in different areas. There are another three ladies from California who are helping out for three weeks. They speak Spanish and are helping in evangelism, discipleship and teaching. The ladies are from a Christian College in Puerto Rico.

Panfi has visited 8 of the 10 satellite schools in the jungle villages in the jungle trails. She follows up on the teachers and had an opportunity to share Christ's love. Two students from the Christian College went with her and there were 24 decisions for Christ on these visits. "We rejoice in the Lord for it and thank you for your prayers as well." Sam

Praise! Dr. Rochelle is back from Bolivia. She reports that the plane is doing great and the missionaries in Bolivia send their love to all at FBCLC. The political situation in Bolivia continues to deteriorate--a country-wide shutdown strike was planned for 5 pm yesterday. Rochelle flew out yesterday morning. Praise to God for His perfect timing. The Ayores have been told by the government that the land is theirs, take whatever they want from it, especially from "foreigners", so there have been a lot of break-ins and thefts at the mission. During Rochelle's time there, she was able to teach the daily Bible study for the older girls at the school, two English classes a day, as well as hold medical clinics. The temperatures were in the 90's, day and night, (not a breath of air or any way to manufacture one)--raining so hard for three days that school was cancelled. This was Rochelle's first trip and an experience that has made her "extremely" thankful for God's blessings in her life. She thanks all for your prayers while she was away.

Dear Friends,

It has been a different year, with many blessing but also with problems and difficulties, situations that motivated us to trust even more in our Lord and on HIM alone.

A very dry weather limited the production in the plantations. Feeding 150 children for a whole year at no cost was a challenge. But as we were reaching the end of the products, the Lord provided in different ways: a big farmer donated sacks of rice that got humid but we recovered them in a grain dryer, another sold beans at a low price to “help the children”, other times with donations, HE is in control!

The unstable situation of our new government trying to impose communism, eradicate Bible teaching from schools, close religious institutions, take away land and properties; just the uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow may bring, as they pass new laws as suit their purposes disrespecting existent Laws or the Constitution. We teach Bible outside the regular school time, so does not affect us much, but they always look for ways of making things harder. We thank God and your prayers for the approval and recognition of the contract our Mission has with the Ministry of Education, as we provide free room and board they pay the teachers, but the administration of the school and teacher designation is under the Mission.

It is wonderful to see students testifying of the cleanliness of their hearts by Christ’s sacrifice in the cross. Just one day before leaving for vacation, Yaniny, a 15 years old girl turned her life to Christ, saying that she wanted to go home but “with Christ in her heart”. Pray for them as the students are on vacation until February, that they may maintain their faith and shine for Christ in the villages and places throughout the jungle. We know that Satan is not happy with the impact of God’s Word in these lives and is trying to stop God’s work. Our confidence is that Christ’s power is above any other and if something happens is because God allows it.

We had the privilege of being helped by friends from Texas. Bill McPherson helped us for 3 weeks in different needs. Dr. and Dr. Rapasky, Rebecca and Andrew Reina spent their vacation with us in a hard and intense work; they saw many patients, some in critical stages, locally and in some surrounding villages. Rick Bartmas from Kilgore Bible Church was a timely help in mechanical needs of the plane and pick-ups. From Brazil came a brick layer and 2 mechanics for a week. We thank God for these friends that come and shared into this ministry with their different gifts.

We are praying for rain as it has been very dry, but we trust that He will provide the daily bread for next year, for us and for the students in the free dorms. Another URGENT prayer request is for dorm parents for the High School Boys Dorm. Last year we were in charge, but with the responsibilities at school, church, Mission, things were tight. Also continue to pray for teachers that would really live for the Lord and that would be interested in building lives, not just transmitting knowledge.

We do especially want to thank you for praying on behalf of the missionaries; stress, tension and heavy load is marking our lives as time goes by. Our prayer and desire is to serve our Savior, sharing Him with those who do not know Him yet. May He find us faithful in doing so! THANK YOU for being a part of this ministry through your prayers, encouragement, and contribution.

Trusting for His rich blessing on your lives,
For the Mission,
Samuel Janson
